Questions about PSTN Installation

Q: What is the procedure for installing new PSTN Lines?

A: To install a new PSTN Line we will require a service order form signed, this will be issued from your accounts manager, stating the location you wish the line to be installed into. We will also require the following information:
 
  • Contact Name and Number
  • How Many lines
  • What ADSL Service you require on the line once installed
  • Is it going to a permanent Building (fixed building ) or a temporary building (portacabin)
If the line is to be installed into a temporary building the process from beginning to end usually takes 10working days to complete, however if it is being installed into a temporary building the process can take a minimum of 21working days as there can be line plant shortages and extra work needing to be carried out before the line can be installed.  
 
Q: What is the procure for a Faulty Router-Swap out?
 
A: If your router doesn’t seem to be working properly, you can call our support team on 01865 856020 who will run some checks on the line and router, if the router is still in warranty they will issue you with a returns number. Once they have logged the fault with the returns number they will configure a replacement router, which will be sent out that day for delivery the next working day by Parcel force. You will need to have the faulty router ready for collection as when the new router is delivered the old one will be collected to be sent back to ci-net.
 
Q: How long will my order take?
 
A: There are a variety of lead times, see below:
  • Pop Box- This can take anything form 2-24hours of receiving the order to compleion.
  • PSTN Line – This takes up to 10working days from date order placed to completion
  • ADSL – This takes 5 working days from date order placed to completion
  • Cease – 5 working days but there is a 30day cancellation period 
  • Migration – To migrate a line to ci-net the process can take anything from 24-48 hours,
  • Web Hosting – 2-24Hours
  • Domain Registration- To register a new domain the process can take form 2-24hours
