Construction Company chooses Bonded ADSL for better value bandwidth

Construction Company Watkin Jones & Son Ltd identified a need for a point to point connection between their Bangor and St Asaph offices to enable remote staff from the buying department to access the Headquarters based accounts system while maintaining secure connectivity for other applications such as email and DNS traffic.

Owing to their rural locations, the cost of a leased line based solution is prohibitive while SDSL is totally unavailable. Community Internet plc (CI) proposed bonded ADSL as an alternative since its low cost in relation to bandwidth makes it the ideal solution.

The bonded ADSL solution will improve communications between Watkin Jones Bangor Headquarters and St Asaph offices. The solution from supplier CI replaces a system which currently delivers 2.5 Mbps at each site with one that will provide up to 2.5 Mbps symmetric connectivity between the two offices. This will enable the accounts to be updated live and for their systems to automatically synchronize, whereas previously tape media was used which caused a 24 hour delay in system updates.

CI is a company which like Watkin Jones is forward thinking and willing to use new technologies and innovations whilst still maintaining a high quality service to their clients. CI continues to go the extra mile to provide solutions where other providers would adhere strictly to a specific product range, explains Robert De'Ath Group IT Manager Watkin Jones. They work with the customer to solve problems with tailored solutions, and the business partnership between Watkin Jones & Son Ltd and CI has provided a unique solution for us, with full project management and fast, effective support and resolution. This has enabled us to increase our productivity.
