A leading UK civil engineering company has contracted CI-Net to deliver the wireless connectivity required to support their staff working across 20 satellite construction offices around a development site in Stratford, London.
The existing communications infrastructure available on the site will be removed during the site clearance phase of the project and it is essential that the connectivity between the various site offices, which enables the key contractors to share resources, is replaced with minimal delay or interruption.
Having already delivered a 100Mbps EES circuit with 54Mbps committed bandwidth to the main site office, CI-Net was approached by the construction team to design and provide a site-wide communications infrastructure.
Following a site survey, CI-Net proposed a connectivity solution to deliver a fully working link to each satellite office including the installation of masts at remote sites, RedKite wireless technology, point-to point links and AES encryption for maximum security. By selecting Redline Communications and BridgeWave point-to-point communications devices CI-Net can also provide VOIP across the sites.
“We selected CI-Net for this high-profile project because our previous experience when using them to replace our own VPN was very successful. Once again they have been able to quickly understand our needs and propose a flexible solution which is based on the best available technology and appropriate for the layout of the site,” explains the ICT Manager of the construction company. “We have been impressed by their professional approach and their ability to adapt quickly as our requirements and circumstances change,” he adds.
Graham McLean, CI-Net Managing Director is delighted to be selected for this complex connectivity project. “By conducting a site survey and working closely with all parties involved in defining the communications requirements of the London site we were able to propose a solution which will not only meet the needs of the construction teams now, but which can also be incorporated into future communication plans.
