RedKite goes live in Birmingham

Businesses in Birmingham now have access to CI-Net’s high-speed wireless Internet service RedKite.

RedKite delivers high speed, high performance symmetrical connectivity through the air, based on pre-WiMax technology with the bandwidth and reliability of Ethernet circuits. From 1 to 100 Mbps and uncontended capacity RedKite is a scaleable, flexible and cost effective connectivity solution.

Not only does RedKite offer a true level of resiliency due to its unique delivery method through the sky, it can be used in conjunction with existing cabled solutions to deliver increased bandwidth. The RedKite 'Wired & Wireless' strategy makes use of all the available bandwidth to provide optimum performance. An additional advantage of this approach is that both lines are working all of the time. Many companies that CI-Net have worked with have a 'spare' line as back up in case their primary service fails. However, all too often technical problems are found with the back-up just when it is most needed.

CI-Net uses ‘Wired & Wireless’ connectivity for everyday communications, with automatic fail-over in the event that either service is disrupted and automatic load balance once both services are available again.
