A 10 mbps ‘WiMAX-ready’ fixed wireless internet connection with automatic failover to a ‘bonded quad ADSL’ link is providing secure resilient connectivity to construction teams working on a high profile £490m luxury apartment complex in Knightsbridge, London.
The high bandwidth, fixed wireless radio configuration, which incorporates secure virtual LANS (VLANS) to enable online collaboration by the 12 sub contractors currently working at the 27,000ft² site, was implemented for lead contractor Laing O’Rourke by fully managed wide area networks, hosting and internet solutions company, CI-Net.
